Things to Know
  1. Trainees will have the opportunity to work 20 hours a week depending on their work site of choice unless that site no longer is available.
  2. Trainees will be paid $9.30 an hour for the work they complete. This is currently minimum wage in the state of Ohio.
  3. The trainee will be given breaks as needed during their shifts, due to weather or stamina. The trainee will need to bring lunch and will have a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
  4. Cell phones and additional electronic devices unless used for personal communication due to a barrier, are asked to be kept off site during working hours. We ask that they be kept at home to ensure the safety of them. Goodwill and or Job Coach is not responsible for the device.
  5. Training sites are treated like employment because it is just that, you are being paid for your time and work. Trainees are expected to attend each scheduled day unless prior arrangements have been made through OOD. Missing days must be reported to OOD and it is to their discretion if student continues.
  6. Our teams have spent time to make this program survive the COVID 19 limitations. A lot of thought and preparation have been put into how we could still make this happen and still meet all the requirements. Goodwill will be prepared with all the proper PPE that your student will need on the job site.
  7. Our goal is to have a safe and productive summer with your student, one where learning basic work skills is not always a chore but an adventure.
